The Avalon School’s 8th Grade Rite of Passage Dinner was a night to remember. Served by the 7th grade boys at long, formal tables and catered by Corcoran Caterers, the evening honored the graduating class with academic awards and words from their teachers. Gil McPherson and Kevin Davern each spoke to the boys’ accomplishments and character— Davern reflecting on how hard work lends every person dignity and purpose. After dinner, every teacher recited a favorite poem, and each boy followed with one of his own choosing. It was a fitting send-off for a class that rose to many challenges.
Here’s to the future class of 2030!
