Tomas, an Avalon alumnus (Class of ‘16 ), returns to the school this year to teach Third Grade.  A graduate of Benedictine College, he holds an undergraduate degree in liberal arts with a concentration in classical languages, including Hebrew, and also worked as a Latin and Greek tutor. Tomas also received a Master of Arts in Classics at Villanova University.  In addition to his studies, over the past several years Tomas has completed numerous international mission trips to aid the poor and disadvantaged, including leading nine young men to New Orleans and Baton Rouge in the wake of Hurricane Harvey; volunteering with Mustard Seed communities in Jamaica; renovating a school for impoverished children in Nicaragua, and delivering Christmas gifts to children in El Salvador.

Among his many interests are modern and classical philosophy, cooking, sustainable agriculture, poetry and art.  Tomas lives Poolesville, MD.
