About Pat Finegan

B.F.A. Penn State University
B.A. Thomas Aquinas College

Pat joined the Avalon faculty in January 2017 with a diverse international background in education, art, and business.

After receiving his B.F.A. from Penn State University and his B.A. from Thomas Aquinas College, he taught for seven years in Pittsburgh and the DC area before being tempted away by the art and business worlds in New York City.  There he served as executive manager of an art foundation and the executive director of a family-centered private foundation.  He also studied at  Sotheby’s Institute of Art, receiving a graduate certificate in American Decorative and Fine Arts.

Desirous of a  return to teaching, Pat moved to Russia, and taught as a certified English as a Second Language instructor, both within a classroom setting and as an independent tutor. While in Moscow, he also met and married his wife, Natalia.  After living in Moscow for five years, he returned to the US.

Pat currently lives in Gaithersburg with his wife, Natalia, and their son, Nikita.
