Amanda Chapman joined the Avalon Faculty in the Fall of 2023, teaching reading, grammar and spelling to the second grade. In addition, Amanda is an academic language therapist, receiving training from Atlantic Seaboard Dyslexia Association (ASDEC). She and her husband, Miles, live in Alexandria, VA. with their three children Elijah (Avalon ’30), Addie (Brookewood ’32) and Piper (Brookewood ’35).  Amanda is a graduate of Covenant College, where she majored in Biblical and Theological Studies.  She was awarded a Master of International Health degree from George Mason University in 2009 and has over fifteen years’ experience designing, implementing and managing bilateral international health programs, domestically and abroad.
