This past Saturday, the Avalon and Brookewood communities came together for the 19th Annual Pilgrimage, a day of prayer, fellowship, and joyful perseverance. The pilgrimage began with Mass at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception and continued along a roughly 15-mile route, concluding with Mass at St. Catherine Labouré Church.
Many families joined for portions of the walk, and plenty of pilgrims completed the full journey from start to finish. Along the way, students, parents, teachers, alumni, and friends prayed together, encouraged one another, and gave visible witness to the shared faith and friendship that mark the the Avalon and Brookewood communities. The day concluded with a cookout on the field, offering a fitting celebration after a beautiful and meaningful pilgrimage.
